Simple Grain-Free Crackers with Pizza Seasoning {Paleo, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Grain-Free, Sugar-Free}

A sheet pan full of scattered grain-free, vegan crackers with pizza seasoning

This is a basic cracker recipe, but made with cassava flour and completely without dairy! Since there is no other animal products, it also means these crackers are vegan! I opted for a classic cracker, there's no cheese flavor here even from nutritional yeast. My kids don't love the taste of cheese, even pizza they sometimes reject. It's funny though, because Cheddar Bunnies are a very in style snack at their school. They ask for them constantly, but they really don't like them. So, I thought it would be cute to make them their own version!

I like to make things a little zesty too, so I also blended up a pizza seasoning blend for these crackers. If you grew up in the 90s you might remember a little something called, "flavor blasted gold fish crackers." Which, were as the name describes, goldfish crackers infused with pizza flavored seasonings. Divine. Utter divine. I really think I hit the nail on the head here with the flavor blend!

A note on the flavor blend: if you can't find tomato powder you can easily make your own with sun dried tomato. How I did it was, I took roughly 1/4 cup of sundried tomatoes (no oil, just the dried tomatoes from the spice section) and I dropped them in a moving blender to break them up to a flakey consistency. It still felt too "wet" to be in a spice blend/powder. So I poured out my flakey tomatoes onto a layer of paper towels and microwaved them in about 3 blasts of 5 seconds each to simulate "drying" them further. It worked! Once they cooled down, I put them in the blender with the red pepper flakes and ground it down to a powder.

Check out this cute DIY carrot as an Easter gift, my crackers work great as the orange part!
