Ladies, Mother's Day is near! I highly encourage you to set the expectations yourself to avoid disappointment. It sucks to spell out how you want to be celebrated, but it sucks even more being disappointed when nothing is planned to celebrate you! Now that doesn't mean you need to pick something from this list to purchase, but maybe ask for someone else to make you a nice brunch! Or, go on a hike with your family! Maybe you don't want to be around your family, so set up a Dad/Grandparent/Babysitter day and enjoy! How do you like to celebrate Mother's Day typically? Let me know below in the comments!
Now, to my gift guide! Everything on this list is something I use regularly, except the Garmin watch... that's what I'm asking for this year! Ha! **Hint Hint, Brant**
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I am NOT a fan of the Apple watch. I think it looks too techy, it's mostly just a wearable phone and I don't like that. I've always wanted a Garmin watch because of their fitness specific features. I love that this watch has very accurate GPS ability for runs, hikes, and swims; as well as the ability to download music from Spotify and other apps. There's also the ability to sync with your phone and get the best parts of the phone/watch combination. There is even free training apps associated with Garmin, to help prep you for 5k runs, 10 k runs, or even a triathlon!
If you follow me on Instagram you probably notice that I always have my 40oz Hydroflask water bottle in tow! It's the main reason I get enough water each day and I love that it's insulated and stainless steel inside. This would be an awesome gift for anyone who enjoys being active, hydrated, and reducing their disposable water bottle waste.
Dry Farm Wines is a wine subscription service (also able to order one time gifts) that is third party tested to ensure NO additives! Most wines have a list of mystery ingredients, as the FDA has cleared all sorts of additives like "deep purple" coloring and other nasty ingredients. Mainstream wine also usually contains more sugar than it should, as the wine making process is sped up. Dry Farm Wines ensures their wine is allowed to full ferment, meaning the yeast and natural bacteria eats away almost 100% of the sugars! Each bottle is labeled with the amount of residual sugars. This gift is amazing for anyone who loves wine, but needs to focus on clean ingredients. As an added bonus, there's usually way less hangover associated with this wine!
The "cool mom" in your life NEEDS a personalized Yeti tumbler. I love my wine glass tumbler that is personalized with "cool mom" because it gives me Mean Girls vibes and I find it hilarious. But, the Yeti Rambler (coffee mug) is another one I use daily!
The Moleskine journal and Fountain pen is what I use daily to create my to-do lists, write down my crazy recipe ideas, and jot down my dreams and goals! I love using a fountain pen, as it glides so beautifully. The ink is much thicker, so the paper in the Moleskine is great for that! No leaking through whatsoever. I prefer the soft cover Moleskine because I like to fold the book cover over.
The cooking tools (Vitamix, knife set, Instant Pot, and Le Creuset) are my absolute must have items. I don't have a lot of variation in my personal kitchen. I would actually say that I have the bare minimum when it comes to pots, pans, and appliances. These items are splurge worthy, but I mean it when I say I use them EVERY.DANG.DAY. The Vitamix was a wedding gift and it's been used multiple times a day for nearly 9 years and it is still perfect. The Global knife set was my first set of true Chef knives, and they are a dream. The Instant Pot makes everything from week night dinners, to bulk protein prep an absolute breeze! The Le Creuset is a multi purpose kitchen tool-- I love to sauté meat and veggies in it, then use the same pot to bake the casserole or simmer the soup I'm making.
Anyway, I hope this list was helpful! Sometimes I don't even know what to ask for, so I love these lists as inspiration.
What would you ask for on this list?!
